Do Not Support The Bigwood Theater In Hailey
On Christmas day when the power was turned back on, many local residents decided to take the opportunity to go to the movies and spend a quiet day with family to see the showing “AVATAR.” Somehow the film was damaged during a rewind as explaned by the manager and there was no fixing it. We were about to sit through the entire show (almost 3 hours) with scratch lines bleeding through screen. It looked like a 1940’s reel-to-reel film showing of Laurel and Hardy. Some people left while most people stayed to avoid explaining to their children who probably thought it was just a part of the film. When we asked the manager as to why he had not apologized to the audience and at least offer everyone a pass to see it again or a refund, he simply dismissed the question as if he did not hear it, turned away and said “SORRY, I just now found out about it”. We later learned that the theater continued to show the film at its regular show times and never warned customers that there was a problem with the film. This is another example of, “We don’t care about our customers; we know you’ll continue to come to the movies every week and continue to pay the high prices for concessions. We also could care less if our manager lacks common sense. Purchases are predicated on the fact that people are going in to watch a movie and outside snacks are not allowed. The manager had the audacity to tell one customer that he would not refund any snacks but they were welcome to take them home. Like this customer would ever go to the theater to spend $12 for a bucket of popcorn to go!!! Many of our friends have told us they have stopped going to the Bigwood theater entirely and choose to drive to Ketchum. The rest rooms are clean and the staff are appreciative of the customer. Share this with all your friends. Remember, "The only way wrong contnues to prosper is when good people do nothing". |
